While the world has changed around us due to Covid-19, the needs of these children have only grown. Many Public Schools and programs are closed and many parents are looking to clinics like Ready Set Connect more than ever. We are moving forward with the fundraiser. The guidelines are changing rapidly and no one knows where we will be come Sept 12th but all indications are we will be able to play. If things have to be modified, we will adjust as it happens.
Akwa Marina is hosting The 3rd Annual Winnipesaukee Volleyball Classic to benefit children with autism who need assistance. The money raised will have a real impact. 100% of the funds raised will go directly towards the children so they can get much-needed therapy at Ready Set Connect by Crotched Mountain in Concord, Manchester and Greenfield NH. Ready Set Connect will select children's programming and/or a child they feel is most in need of the scholarship.
It is a pool play style tournament followed by a playoff bracket. The rules will be modified to speed up play. Each round will be the first team to 21 points or 20 minutes whatever happens first. Each match will have at least a 5-minute break between rounds. The finals will be played to 30 points and on the sand court. Some games will be played on grass on the North and South Lawns and Beach.
Please be sure to come with an understanding of how to play volleyball a little bit, remember this is for fun and to raise money.
